What you're doing wrong that makes it not stick

I've read many reviews that say the product does not stick - I thought so, too, initially, but discovered the problem and want to explain. There IS a backer film on this product, just like the instructions say, but it can be really hard to notice it. It's the smooth side surface of the product - that's what you need to remove. It can be really hard to get started, but here's what I found works. Take a pair of sharp tweezers, hold the film at a corner between your fingers with just a 1/16-inch sticking out, then push one edge of the tweezers into edge of the film. Yes, the film is very thin and it's hard to line up the tweezers to hit the middle, but it can be done. When you get it, you'll see the tweezers pushing between the two films. Push a little more and wiggle so you can get ahold of one of the films, then grab both and peel apart. They hold pretty well but are not glued. You will feel the "static cling" as you pull them apart. To get it on the window, mist a LOT of water onto the window first - don't skimp. Place the film gently against the water but don't press down yet. Use this opportunity to slide the film around to get it in perfect position. When you have it where you want it, hold one section of the film in place with your fingers and use the squeegee to squeeze the water out from behind the film, pulling away from your fingers. Then put your fingers on the side you just squeegeed and squeegee the rest. The water should get pushed from under the film to the edge where it will run down the window. Wipe that up with a towel and you're done. Once I understood the process, the film is awesome and works just as described. Very happy now, and I hope you will be, too!
