Review on πŸ”§ 1-Step Looping Pliers by The Beadsmith - Efficiently Craft Rosaries, Earrings, Bracelets, Necklaces, and Wire Jewelry with Consistent Loops in One Easy Step using 3mm, 24-18g Craft Wire by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The loop is too big for the rosary and doesn't fit the bead well.

I have to admit that I ordered a large looper because the original size seemed small to me, so I'm wrong on that point. I prefer to use wire to make my own eye studs because it's quicker when I can't find the exact eye studs in the store, but I decided to at least try this tool to see if it helps a lot . I spent about 30 minutes trying it out, cutting a piece of wire and making the first loop with pliers. I was not at all impressed with the result of the 'finished' product. Aside from the eye being too big, the tool created too much space between the loop and the bead, causing the bead to not fit properly at all. This process required me to cut the loop and flex the loop again to hold the bead tight. When I tried to bring the bead closer to the loop, the glass bead broke off and became unusable. It was the third hit on the tool, so it disappeared from my tool box forever and went into the donation box at the thrift store. I've considered ordering a smaller looper, but I don't think I'd want to spend more time or money despite the rave reviews the tool has received. A piece of advice for people who have trouble making the same size bows: use your original bow. with pliers and draw a line on the tool where you would normally start making a loop. Make a mark on the outside of the bent post so you can easily see it. Use a jewelry file or even a regular hacksaw to make a mark. At first I used a sharper marker for the line but it wore out too quickly so a jeweler told me how to make the marker permanent. This technique worked best for me and cost nothing.

Pros
  • Jewelry making tools and accessories
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Loop is too big for rosary work and doesn't make the bead snug.
