I bought size 6X-7 shorts for a 4 year old, small for her age. Most of her clothes are a size 4. However, I have read comments from others that the ones ordered were too small. So I bet on a size that I think would be too big. However, it fit her well. So if I advise ordering a few sizes larger than you think your child needs. The material is really nice and it's well made.
