Got this to replace my 2 year old TPLink Kasa outdoor camera. The size and quality is about the same (slightly smaller and lighter), but there's no "wow" about this camera. The main advantage over my existing Kasa Cam is that it has continuous SD card recording and RTSP so I can connect it to my HomeAssistant and Frigate server. Otherwise it's just a regular camera. Daytime quality is good, nothing outstanding (2K didn't make it as RTSP can only work up to 1080p anyway); Night time is so-so, moving objects tend to blur in low light and night vision. They claim "color night vision" (see image), but that's not like the starlight sensors on other cameras like the Wyze v3. It's more of a trick of the little LED spotlight, in my opinion, that only draws attention to the camera. The fact that it only has a magnetic mount (which holds up decently under my curtain rod) and easily detaches from the USB extension cord; I don't want to draw attention to it as it would be easy. Human detection is actually pretty good with the default settings (especially compared to their doorbell); There wasn't a single false positive, I'm not sure about a false negative. Setup and installation was very easy. Nothing about this camera makes it worth $80 (let alone $100 for 2K). I thought about returning it, but I like that it has RTSP and continuous recording, so I'll probably keep it to myself for now. If Wyze got RTSP on version 3, I would vote for Wyze unconditionally. Or when TPLink releases its new outdoor camera (which could be later this year), I'd pick that one as it's supposed to have a starlight sensor. If you're on the fence and want a camera with continuous recording and RTSP; I'd say wait until this goes on sale OR just buy the Eufy indoor cameras (from what I've read they're fine for outdoor use). Even if the indoor chamber lasts 2 years outdoors and you need to replace it, you still pay less money. If they drop about $25 I would consider swapping out the other two Kasa outdoor cameras. If you don't need RTSP, use Wyze v3. At least you get real "color night vision" and save a lot of money.
