The little cubes are cute and just the size I was looking for but I found the bowls didn't release the ice very well. The material is silicone, so it will not stick to the surface, but due to the design of the product, the ice will not easily come out of the cube's cavities. Traditionally, the ice tray is rotated or tapped lightly on another surface to make the ice fall out. For bowls that are just silicone at the bottom, you have to press the bottom to make the ice cream pop out and come out. Likewise, each tiny cube must be pushed out of the cavity individually. Even bending the tray back doesn't dislodge it, although they push out enough to pull it out individually at that point. It's a lot of work just getting the ice out. More than other ice trays I've used. I really like the size of the cubes, but since I'm tired of putting so much effort into sourcing ice cream, I don't think it's worth it. there must be an easier way. In the end I decided to go with an automatic ice cream maker. The cubes he makes aren't as small as I'd like and they cost A LOT more to get and run, but they're a lot more convenient. I brought these tiny silicone ice cube trays to the small dorm fridge that we keep in the man cave. They fit perfectly in a small freezer.
