I just installed two of these lights in one of my store's bay windows. They hang from C-shaped purlins about 15 feet off the ground. I already had HID (converted to LED) 240V metal halide bulbs so I just added another switch to control the new bulbs. Connecting to 240V is no problem, connect one hot wire to the black wire, the other hot wire to the white wire and ground. They are as bright as the 400w corn bulbs I installed in the HID lights. Nice that the lanterns come with a safety cable and carabiner. They were too short for my application, so I just threw a short length of chain over the strap and attached a carabiner to it. Let's see how long they last. I'll be surprised if the lamps last 5 years. My house is all LED and I've had a few outages in 2-3 years. Of my 4 metal halide lamps that I installed 12 years ago, two were original.
