Just doesn't work as advertised

Many reviewers pointed out that it was perfect under their shelling on their deck as well as in the listing's description. However, when we used it under our fire pit and placed it on the deck the right way, it ended up burning a hole right through the carpet, leaving burned residue on our deck. Fortunately, despite the unsightly appearance on deck, it did not cause any serious damage. If I could bring him back with a giant hole I would!
