Bought this kit to make hats for charity (ie warming up America). I have been knitting and crocheting since childhood (now retired) and bought my first knitting machine when it was available. Hands are getting numb and it's getting harder and harder to knit tops onto hats. I've made combination knit and crochet hats but I don't really like the way they look. I have never liked using double worsted skeins for hats (looms) and have not jumped on bulky weights. a trend that seems so common now. I found this set a few days before I placed my order. was worried that I couldn't determine the distance between the centers of the pins (3/8 inch), and I didn't like that there were so many "extra" parts in the set. 8 choices seems really overkill to me. I was also concerned with so many reviews mentioning problems keeping the pins in their holes. But I decided to take the plunge. All pins were in their holes when the set arrived and I have used two machines so far without this problem. All eight picks are short and skinny. I can't use any of these. I will donate them to an organization that offers courses for beginners in weaving. (I've accumulated good substitutes over the years.) Due to the size of the pin heads, I have to relearn the hand motions of knitting with yarn. thin on CinDWood machines with the same distance between them. However, the inner grove is - for a pickaxe - very rough. It didn't affect the yarn because it's in the grove, but it's really confusing; With some vertebrae, the tip of the vertebrae appears to literally get stuck in the thinner, deeper holes. Again, I'm working on the arm movement to see if that helps. And I used my Emory board to file some velcro on some of the pin heads. Crochet hook 5.0 mm. I don't know what the seller intended to use it for. In the pocket with one of the picks is a very small piece that looks like a hook. I think this should help if the working yarn accidentally jumps off the pin trying to bring it back. I haven't tried yet. One of the working pins is just behind the anchor pin; not a single working pin on either side of the anchor pins like on every other machine I have owned now or have owned in the past. This makes it difficult to wind and knit yarn from this needle. Also, sometimes it's difficult to tell if this pin is the first or the last. The stitch markers are so big that they are too easy to grab and move. Tried a few small ones in my pocket - they don't ride up over the pinhead. This is a normal product for the first offer. Some of the things that bother me probably won't bother first-time buyers. Some of the things that I am working on or working on can be very annoying to others.
