I've been playing Pong so I prefer tactile controls. After recently picking up a tablet and reading reviews of the Modern Combat series, I started looking for a simple, inexpensive, and portable controller. I chose this D-Pad along with the Second Shells version. Both pads arrived today and I immediately bought Modern Combat 3 and tried both. Each pad has its pros and cons and both pads performed well and did what they promised. The Logitech pad is larger and has bigger suction cups (although both pads adhere very well), it offers more resistance when moving the d-pad button, and the d-pad button centers faster and more accurately than the Second Shells version . The Logitech pad comes with a case. The Second Shells pad is smaller, has less resistance when moving the D-Pad button, and centers a little slower than the Logitech version. The Second Shell version also comes with two awesome buttons. Aside from the extra packages that come with each pad, the main difference between the pads is the "feathers". They are hard plastic on the Logitech overlay and rubber on the Second Shell overlay. The Logitech pad's hard plastic springs seem to break more easily, but because they're stiffer, they feel more like an analog stick motion and center faster and more accurately than Second Shells pads. I think so. It's best to take both brands at the same time, like I did to get the best of both worlds - 2 D-Pads for gaming with two on-screen D-Pads, 2 resistors and re-centering, 2 buttons and a shell . Those who didn't rate this device positively might try to use it for games that don't have a round analog Type-D panel on the screen. For example I've seen some games that have more D-Pads with a + sign and it may not work with those types of games. Now that I'm using both pads I really can't imagine playing without them and both pads are way better than I expected. Each has its own merits.
