Review on Bushwhacker® Mesa Trunk Bag Black by David Pirlet

Great bike bag: Cycling

I'm a police officer and I've recently started bike lanes downtown. I bought this bag on the recommendation of another longtime rider. I have to say I'm not disappointed. This is a well-designed pannier that fully meets my needs. It keeps its shape and holds the few pieces of gear I don't already have on my belt. I attached a flashlight to the back of this bag which attaches well. The trick I was shown by the officer who recommended the bag is to take a rubber band and wrap it around the lightweight clip where it attaches to the bag. This keeps the light from moving back and forth and more importantly keeps it from falling out of your pocket when hitting curbs or hard bumps. I saw other officers on the street lose their headlights as their headlights went out. I'll probably buy another Bushwhacker bag to use on my personal bike. I can tell you that these bags stand up to rough handling as there are officials who use them for several years without any ill effects. The main compartment offers plenty of space for larger items. The 2 side pockets easily fit other items you want quicker access to. In my case ticket office, sunglasses, gloves and other small things. It would be great for MP3 players or phones. The top zippered compartment places a pair of relatively flat items directly on top. I have a notepad and another small book, but it could also be useful for a wallet, ID or keys. If I need to buy another pannier after using this one and looking at several other brands I will definitely buy this one again. .
