So this is the second one I've bought. The first one didn't work but I thought it was an accident and since I bought it a year ago I couldn't return it. I bought another one and when I put it on it didn't work either! I was pretty upset. Then I just fiddled around, swapped the wires and it lit up really bright, the damn thing is wired back to front. I went and took the original and checked it out. It works great if I power the black wire and ground the white! So overall this is a good license plate holder and the light is nice and bright, illuminating the entire license plate. When you plug it in, the black wire is the hot wire and the white is the ground. It is powered by a 9 volt battery so you can test it before installing it.
