These are beautiful (and expensive) solid, durable glass storage jars. The clips are easy to use with practice, however I have found that some very small pieces of glass can sometimes break off when closing as I have read from other reviewers. Luckily, the almost powdery particles are on the lid's outer groove (facing out, not in) so it doesn't come into contact with food. And it doesn't happen every time. I also bought several smaller sizes with the same holes as the glass panels, spacers and clips are interchangeable. It's nice to have a really wide opening that allows you to use the ladle when pouring in soups or sauces, which I prefer to wide-mouth mason jars. I use them to freeze bone broth as some of my Mason jars shattered during freezing no matter how careful I was to leave room. They appear to be a bit thicker and less prone to cracking. (I've since learned to chill the soup before putting it in the freezer so the temperature change isn't that big.) Beauty aside, I'd say the wide mouth opening and extra thickness make it worth the investment. , since I don't expect the same kind of breakage when freezing.
