Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ GE 2 Outlet Surge Protector Wall Tap with 2 USB Ports, 450 Joules and 14504 Model by Robbie Guinn

Nice though. fits power strips

It does what it says on the tin, looks quality but there have been a few minor disappointments. The device has a nice light bar at the top that shows red (charging), green (charging complete), or blue (standby). The usual "anti-scratch" sticker for such things was stuck on an amazing glue - the sticker did not come off cleanly, was not washed off with water, soap or alcohol. GE should use a static sticker with no glue and start selling amazing glue. The USB ports don't charge one of our older Samsung phones - the instructions say some devices require proprietary USB chargers, but I was able to charge the phone via USB on a computer, for example, so it looks like GE might fix the issue. Problem. Our new phones are perfectly charged by the GE unit. The block is wide enough and is not suitable for a wall panel with a combined socket and switch, as it interferes with the operation of the switch (large variety of keyboards). The instructions state that when the device eventually wears out, the device will bypass the surge protection electronics, turn off the indicator light, and continue to function as a regular outlet. So it looks like GE did its homework and built a reliable device. If they fix minor packaging and usability issues, they have a 5 star product.
