Because there was nothing in my town. NOTHING. Buckle up, kids, because this is going to be a bumpy ride. This was my first encounter with fleas and I was stunned as to how to deal with it when I discovered our house could not be bombed due to the propane installation. I originally ordered Hartz flea and tick powder from Wally World after realizing that fleas in our area seem too overbearing to care if your pets wear flea collars. You have one bottle left. Tiny. Not enough for my whole house and it was only listed for small areas not the whole house. I also ordered Hartz carpet spray. I was optimistic. When I got to Fail-Mart to pick up my groceries, I was told that they should replace the spray bottle with a larger one. No problem! Not correct. Problem. It wasn't Hartz and it wasn't a pesticide. It was something natural, mostly with cloves. I called Wal-Dump to complain. I wanted to KILL the bugs. Don't force them to do yoga and incense! Carnations go for HAM, not CARPETS. I got my money back but by that time I had already hired a nanny for my child and pets to get rid of fleas in the house. I've been to several pet stores. SAME PROBLEM. They're forcing these non-chemical solutions on me like a bunch of anti-vaccinators! I was even reassured by my pet owners that it would work. I was just restricted. I gave up, bought a flea lamp (they help a bit) and some essential oil flea shampoo, and went home to clean until I cried. When I was done, the house smelled like a Sensi party, but the fleas were still jumping all over the place! I just pissed her off! So I ordered this product after a lot of research and realized that Hartz really wouldn't be safe to use in large areas. This was my LAST option and the bottle said 'guaranteed' and the fleas have multiplied since I tried to kill them as if it were a form of protest. So I got this real flea shampoo and a couple of those Revain flea lamps for a better price than the local stores. I follow the directions, add this stuff to everything and use the DE powder dispenser to make sure I reach all the nooks and crannies. I went outside, bathed the dog, brought in the cats, bathed and brushed them, and came in two hours later to sweep up what was left on the surface. What have I swept? DEAD fleas. Instantly! Oh, glory and joy, I have never celebrated the end of a man's life like this! I cried! I wrote to my friends! This is my first time on Facebook in years! I AM A KILLER OF THE WORLD AND THAT'S GREAT! Last night we slept soundly for the first time in WEEKS. I am so thankful that this product exists in abundance and is so versatile. I order more just in case because I know how easy it is for them to get into areas you don't expect and I will have them on hand forever. Thanks very much! I would suggest although it says it's for 5 rooms and I have 8 I honestly thought it would go further as I have a small house. Had not. I needed more than one bottle per 800 square feet of house. Don't walk lightly! Buy two! You won't regret it, and if you have a surplus you can always wait for a dry day and spread it around your home to reduce THAT population.
