Edit: It has been almost 3 years since I replaced the zipper on my suitcase with this one. I don't use my suitcase often (maybe 5-6 times a year) but the zipper holds up great even after going through checked baggage a few times. Great replacement! First Review: Looks like pretty strong metal. A bit pricey but you are paying for the convenience of not having to buy a large pack of rods. I bought this to replace a broken zipper on my suitcase, used pliers to make sure it was fully closed and applied a thin coat of epoxy. Hopefully this will prevent it from reopening like some of the other reviews say. It took 5 days from ordering to receiving it - I received it a day before Revane's earliest prediction.
