I avoided wearing cycling gloves because they were a distraction. I'm so glad I have them, they are comfortable and on their first ride I got on my bike. They protected my hands well and even though I broke my arm, I didn't have a scratch on my hands. Also, my nose bleeds all the time when driving. They have a built in "nose cleaner" on the thumb of both gloves. Is that a rough line? For those who don't have a cold, it probably does. But if you're like me, that's an added bonus! Seriously it was a great purchase and I even bought a second pair for my husband.
