I have just purchased and used this hamburger press for the first time. It didn't impress me at all. I wanted a 5 inch press which is not the norm. It was one of the few available. (Most presses are 4 or 4-1/2 inches.) However, squeezing 4 ounces of meat into five inches was almost impossible when I pressed as hard as I could. (I've never been able to expand patties to 5 inches.) You just can't use enough force to expand a hamburger by 5 inches. I am a man and I know perfectly well that my wife would never do that. The press is a nice material, but I'm afraid you'll need a press with some sort of leverage to get a 5 inch cake. I doubt I will use this press again and am looking for an alternative. It was a disappointment.
