I've used several rice cookers including Universal, Instant Pots, Zojirish (high quality and medium). I previously used an instant pot as I wanted to keep the number of utensils on the counter to a minimum. A pressure cooker and a rice cooker are what I need. The Instant Pot does both. However, Instantpot is ugly (at least for me). Works great and is multifunctional. Rice cooking isn't the best, but it's quick (especially compared to zojirushi). And if you want the best rice, just soak the rice for a while before cooking, you'll get Zojirushi-level rice. Anyway I bought this cuckoo rice cooker because it looks good and there are good reviews about this brand. Good: - looks good - quality is good (heavy and well-coated inner pot) good workmanship - really special rice machine if you are a rice guru. This allows you to customize how you want to cook the rice. (seems too complicated to me) - faster than zojirushiBad - no pressure cooking option for other dishes (I was surprised since it's basically a pressure cooker but does NOT offer manual pressure cooking option) - the voice seems to be Korean only (I had to mute the audio ) - Menu navigation is not intuitive - Expensive - Didn't produce a noticeably better rice cooking result than Instantpot (dipping the rice beforehand), maybe I have to try more. Overall, this is definitely a good rice cooker. He only cooks rice and rice variants. Not for other foods.
