Review on πŸ”ͺ Slice & Dice Effortlessly with Borner V6 Stainless Steel Mandoline V-Slicer by Carmen White

Very nice mandolin. I would like more width and full storage space.

I'm sure I have a great mandolin! Sharp, easy to use, safe to use. I like that the storage concept prevents accidental contact with sharp blades. I love that this one looks pretty too! Two other improvements could be made: 1) I love that the parts of the mandolin fit into the storage case, but the visor needs to fit/attach somehow too! This is an important component that should not be separated from the rest of the mandolin and the blades! 2) My second wish might be higher than standard, but I would have liked a wider cutting surface. The very first thing I had to cut was a pineapple and the surface wasn't wide enough for the pineapple to slide across. Look, I made these amazing pineapple blossoms: you cut off the top, bottom, and skin/rind of the pineapple with a knife, and then, without removing the core, cut thin slices 1/8 inch thick (here's one mandolin would have been handy but wasn't wide enough) - and then you bake the slices in the oven. After cooking, place the slices, while still warm, in muffin tins to fold the edges up like flower petals. incredible, beautiful, cupped flowers! gorgeous! In any case, it didn't work on the mandolin, but my knife skills were enough. And the next day I used the mandolin for 6 servings of apple chips which came out wonderful and were light so I'm glad I have this mandolin.
