Electric shock hazard good for kitchen and dining room

Used next day after receipt. I liked that the tray is removable and easy to clean. It heated up and boiled quickly, but after 5 minutes of turning it on, the power was gone. The food gets cold and the device does not turn on by itself. Turn the buttons on and off but they don't work. So we're resetting the power supply to the surge protector it was plugged into to turn it back on. After about 5 minutes the power went off again. We waited 15 minutes to see if it would light up again on its own and it didn't. Turning the device off and on, toggling the buttons off and on, or resetting the surge protector didn't help. We ended up cooking food on our stove. A big disappointment as it took several hours to prepare all the grill and hot pot dishes. Also, the hot pot shorted out several outlets in the house. We had to reset the power from the switchboard outside. I live in a new house that is 2.5 years old. Never had an electrical problem before. No other electrical devices or devices were on at the time. No air conditioning, no TV, nothing else. So I can only conclude that the hot water heater shorted out the house. Coincidence? You can decide for yourself. I sent the device back the next day. I don't recommend at all. Any small household appliance that has electrical problems is a hazard and a fire hazard to me. I read the reviews and saw that others had electrical issues and one of them also mentioned a short circuit but I decided to buy based on the overall 4 star ratings from about 150 people. I thought I was lucky and didn't get a defect. I was wrong. Do not buy, risk of electric shock.
