Also works on the new iMAC 2019!

This is the perfect accessory for those who need to connect USB 2/3 devices or USB-C devices to their 2019 iMac. In my case, I use multiple SD cards of all kinds of speeds and flavors, including microSD. I also use a lot of different USB drives, making this handy and beautiful device the perfect accessory for my needs. It "attaches" to "channels" at the bottom of your iMac. Installation is easy, but you MUST understand the concept. The device easily fits in the palm of your hand to give you perspective. Four USB ports, a standard SD port and a microSD port, and a USB-C port are found on either side of the USB ports. On the back or back of the device is a "wheel" that actuates two of the four plastic "tabs" that hold the hub in place. Make sure all four tabs are "in line," then place the tabs "in" the iMac's "channels" (you can place your iMac on a towel or other soft, protective material , to make it easier). Pop up). Because the short USB-C cable connected to the hub connects directly to one of the iMac's two Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports, the hub is installed closest to those two ports. After placing the tabs into the iMac's "channels," hold the hub in place by turning the black wheel on the back of the hub, which slides two of the four tabs into the "channel" until they are snug. hub is securely fastened. All you have to do is finger tighten and poke a bit too, but be careful not to overtighten. The product photos on Revain's website are a great example of how beautiful this accessory looks. All ports worked great. It's NOT self-powered, but I've had no trouble booting from multiple USB devices and SD cards. A very dim grey/white light shines between the fourth USB port and the USB-C port to indicate that the device is powered on. It's nowhere in your iMac view. A word of caution: as with most USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, make sure the USB-C/Thunderbolt adapter is STRONGLY connected to the iMac port! My first try "felt" like I had the cable plugged in, but it took an extra "woof" before I heard and felt that the adapter was actually "plugged" into the iMac's ports. This applied to both Thunderbolt ports on my iMac. However, it is a great accessory that can make using your Mac more enjoyable.
