Review on 🍽️ Vremi 5 Quart Collapsible Colander - BPA Free Silicone Food Strainer with Plastic Handles - Heat Resistant Pasta and Veggies Kitchen Drainer - Dishwasher Safe - Gray by Mike Rajput

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The holes are too big! suitable for kitchen and dining room

This colander is obviously well made and beautifully designed. That's a great sieve. BUT there are two major problems with this kitchen utensil: 1. The damn thing is too big in diameter! Sure it falls together, but if you're like me, I stack my bowls and colanders. This item takes up 2/3 of a very large drawer front to back. There is no room for anything else between the screen and the front of the drawer. And when you fold it up and put it on top of other bowls etc, it prevents other bowls and filters from getting stuck into each other. That's a camp pig! 2. I love the slanted holes in the screen. But when I'm making macaroni and cheese for the grandkids (which I often do), the holes are big enough that my elbows slip right through the holes! Elbows and other types of pasta like orecchiette slide right through the holes. Instead, I use a wire mesh strainer to strain the oil from canned tuna and other finely chopped foods. This is a quality product with an annoying fatal flaw. I use it very rarely now and only on larger items. That means I need TWO filters instead of one. I kept the packaging; maybe I can give it away again. I'm joking of course.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
