I had a chance to try one of the cheaper versions at a play date and I think the magnets hold better here. Other versions are a little more interesting with wheel and window options, but I'd rather invest in magnetic tiles. I can honestly say that this is the only toy you can play with almost every day. It encourages them to be creative, think outside the box and find new ways to challenge their skills. You will learn about shapes, stability, sizes and more. A three-year-old focuses on flowers and blocks, while a four-year-old builds castles and pyramids! I would recommend packing all 66 pieces in a large clear box for easy access by children. It weighs about 2 kg, so it is not difficult to take it with you on a long vacation. Sometimes kids are just an excuse to play with big tiles and we find ourselves building shapes instead of putting them all away! This is a hit at playdates (although quantity is only enough for 1 child) and would make a great birthday present. Yes, it's expensive (and the price never goes down!), but I consider it an investment. It's durable, good quality and the fun never ends when you play with it. Tiles never break if someone accidentally steps on them or if they fall from the top of a 2m tower! Of all the models of Magna tiles, we recommend buying this model. 66 pieces is a lot (for starters) and the crisp colorful tiles make the game so much more interesting! Definitely 5 stars!
