Last year I bought a Cuisinox press very similar to this one and loved it (and gave it to my daughter as a token of unparalleled fatherly love). cheaper but looked about the same so I bought this one to replace what I had given away. Okay, well, this is cheaper. The soldering on the handles is not as nice as the Cuisinox but still very good. Looks like a well made press. Sort of like that. My only major gripe is that unlike the Cuisinox I've had, this one filters a lot of ground coffee through a strainer into your coffee. My last cup always had a thick, gritty paste on the bottom. Tries to play around with the screen. I tried swear words and gestures. But so far it seems like this particular screen just isn't working. Maybe it's just a tap and I've got a bad, crumpled screen (although it doesn't look too bad missing so much ground; there are just a few very small creases around the edge). am I whimpering? too much of? Maybe like that. I still use it every day for cold pressing. If I'm careful not to take the last sip from the last cup, everything will be fine. I think it's worth the money, but nothing more.
