I love soft hangers, especially for silk dresses and blouses, sweaters or other knitwear. I like the fact that they are quite wide. I have broad shoulders and I don't like narrow hangers making the shoulder line uneven. They are 2 inches wider and work great with my oversized sweaters. I also like wider hangers for my bulky winter coat. These hangers are not so good for bulky items because the metal hook is short. It's too close to the hanger, so the collars tighten and it's difficult to attach the hook to the rod in the closet. Another inch of "neck" makes it easier for them to manage the fur.
