Counts steps in car

I've been a Revain customer for almost 20 years (back then they only sold books) and this is the first review I've ever written as I feel the need to tell others about it inform of a fatal error with this product. This stupid pedometer registers steps in the car! I keep it in my purse all night and then take it out when I go out, so in the morning it should only register the 20 or so steps between my front door and the car. However, yesterday I stopped on my way to work and found that it had counted over 700 steps! So I followed him as he drove (with the other eye, of course, on the road) and watched him register my steps as I drove. When I started working it was over 900! It wasn't constant and seemed to correlate with bumps in the road (which makes sense), but I live in New England and bumps in the road are a fact of life. I can reset it to 0 steps at the start of the day when I get to work, but I still have to look at my steps and do the math to subtract any extra steps recorded every time I sit in the car to rest . Day. If I had known that, I would not have bought this product. Still, I gave this one 2 stars because it's cute and easy to use, and I don't know if this issue will exist with other brands.
