I've used many, many different MP3 players for swimming. I swim a mile a day and can't keep up a boring pace without the help of music and I've found these to be the best headphones I've ever used. I've found that the biggest downside to an underwater MP3 player is the headphones. If you hit a wall while reversing, very few headphones can handle that kind of pressure. The H20 Sure 2 headphones are good but expensive, but the latest version has thinner rubber earcups, making them easier to break under pressure. Water. My advice: get other rubber pads made of stronger rubber and replace that rubber with the one that comes with those pads. I have a few older pairs with thicker rubber and use them in place of my new thinner rubber pieces. But it's still decent to use with your waterproof MP3s, especially since many of them come with even rougher ear tips that don't keep water out very well. Also, thinner in-ear headphones will probably suit most people who do light water activities, but if you swim a lot, take my advice on the rubber part. Some important points to keep in mind when using it: 1. The cable is long, so wrap the cable around the top of the connector where you connect it to the player. Use bread bag ribbon and wrap securely. Do not use rubber bands as pool water will rot quickly. You can also wrap wire around goggle straps. Despite those nits, I still wholeheartedly recommend this product.2. Start with the larger rubber ear tips first, then switch to the smaller sizes if they don't fit. Using the larger sizes will give you a tighter barrier against water. But again, follow my previous advice on rubber earbuds3. You should lightly soak the earbuds in water before putting them in your ear, for some reason this seems to make them more secure in the ear. 4. When you put them in your ear, pull the top of your ear back with your other hand, this stretches it and allows the ear canal to wrap more tightly around the earcup. It is rare for water to enter the ear canal, if you follow these three steps, you will enjoy music much better. Once water enters your ear, you stay in the tube for the rest of your swim, and that goes for any earbud. Happy sailing!
