DOSS has been making Bluetooth speakers for a while, as well as their latest Pro+ model. Based on product placement, it sits between the Soundbox XL and Pro in terms of size, sound, and features. It looks more like a Pro than a Soundbox XL due to the lights on the edge of the lights and the stereo coupling. However, the sound is much closer to Sound XL. The outer shell is available in blue, green or grey. The Pro+ comes with a rubberized case. The rubber gasket covering the SD card slot, AUX input and USB charging port makes the Pro+ IPX5 waterproof. (It can be left out in the rain, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it submerged for long periods of time.) The switches appear to be sealed, preventing dust or other objects from getting in. to view this feature. I will say that I have a number of DOSS Pros and they are fairly easy to pair with each other; The Pro+ shouldn't have any problems either. First light. There are actually three indicators on the speaker: an edge indicator that outlines the front and two white LEDs, each in front of the tweeters. When facing the speaker, the LED faces the driver, illuminating the driver instead of emitting light from the speaker. The outline lights are multicolored and flash slowly or quickly depending on the setting. The setting allows you to choose a color. Luminaires are usually used in a party atmosphere or for children's rooms. If left on, it can be used as a night light. However, if you're like me, I prefer to play with the lights off. So let's get to the sound. The frequency response is very good. (Please keep in mind I'm in my 60's and my hearing isn't what it used to be.) By running the frequency generator from my phone to the speaker via bluetooth, I was able to hear a low end of 53 Hz and a high end of 10750 kHz. The bass is clear without breaking. You might not notice the bass right away, but wait a while and you'll recognize it. If you turn on Extra Bass and use an equalizer with it, it should play the sound you want. I wanted to check the battery life. The volume control takes place in 16 steps from minimum to maximum volume. I set the speaker to play from a cellphone at maximum volume via bluetooth, with no backlight and added bass. The first test was at level 10 Pro+ and lasted 9:54 hours. The second test was at level 7 under the same conditions and lasted 12:33 hours. Not exactly the 15 hours at 50% volume they claim, but still pretty impressive. Last word. This is an excellent speaker. Sounds great, perfect for outdoor parties where the weather can play a role, and is of solid construction. This is a very good buy for the money. It works for 90% of everything you do including the river, beach or pool.
