Yes, it's a little impractical (I mean, a mechanical apple peeler? It requires careful, thoughtful use.), but when used right, it works like a dream. . I made two apple pies and the apples baked so quickly I almost wish I had made four pies just to make the washing process faster than the peeling. And washing wasn't too hard - just warm soapy water, brush, then gently (blades and attachments) dry with a towel. I think the clamp could have been better, but overall it's an effective tool that did exactly what it was supposed to do.
