My job was to haul the bike onto the hitch, where I didn't have the strength to push it alone, nor the control of its 'motor'. I ended up not being able to use a rubber stopper OR a 1 meter protective sleeve AND I had to cut off about four meters of length (thus losing the crimped ring attachment at the end). Still, the combination of rope and cable with a polished fairlead was a bargain that I don't regret.
