My husband originally bought this product thinking it would be easier to clean the toilet and then gave up. :) I'm used to using a toilet brush and toilet cleaner, so I didn't see a need to change them. Then I ran out of toilet cleaner and decided to try a toilet stick. It was so easy to use and it cleans really well. Since then I threw away my toilet brushes and every bathroom has a toilet stick. The design is really good - just snap on a new disposable brush head for each brushing and when you're done there's a button that releases the brush head. it can go straight to the trash can. The only downside to this system is that it creates more dirt (per disposable head) than with a regular brush and detergent. So from an ecological point of view it is not ideal.
