I've taken it on many hikes and trail runs. I was nervous that he would fall anywhere since he doesn't have a waist belt, but he managed. I've had it for a year now and haven't had any issues with mold, mesh breaks etc. The zippers have come undone on the bottom a couple of times when I've overstuffed it. I wouldn't take it on a full day hike as it doesn't hold enough food, but fits a couple of granola bars, keys and a phone.
