In my 2015 1.8 the brake pedal fits very easily, just remove the old piece of rubber that is currently on the brake, two lugs hold it and replace with the new pedal. The brake has a VW part number on the back of the rubber piece. The inactive pedal is a solid piece attached with small protrusions. It's more difficult to install just because of the screw hole in the plastic hood cover. Not too bad but I stopped and just made real pedals to see if I liked it. The gas pedal, as already mentioned, is mounted worse. The black rubber part is not attached and the chrome "metal" part only has mounting tabs on the right half. At first I tried to attach rubber and "metal" firmly but it doesn't hold well making them easy to fall apart. So after several tries I found the best way to attach it to the gas pedal. I cut small pieces of 3M tape and taped them at the top and bottom between the rubber and the "metal" to hold the two together. I bent the tabs that weren't pre-bent loose enough to slip through the gas pedal, I think that's what it's designed for. I also put a few pieces of 3M between the rubber and gas pedal to hold them even more securely than the curved cleats. Since I only made real pedals it took me 4 minutes to install the gas and brake. If I had had gas on the first try it would have taken 2 minutes including cutting and peeling off the 3M tape.
