Review on πŸ”Œ Douk Audio USB Converter XMOS XU208 Digital Interface Optical Coaxial DOP SPDIF Adapter DSD64 PCM192Khz by Michael Godo

Now that turned out to be very interesting.

Got a douk to replace an old USB to coax adapter that only worked at 16 bits. It turned out surprisingly well and I've been using it ever since. I built a near-field setup on a table like this: a 32" Samsung TV, an SMSL AD18 for the amplifier, Polk satellite speakers with a subwoofer, and a Dell XPS 17 laptop and iPad Pro for jammers. an all-device ticket because it allowed me to easily switch between sources or use Bluetooth, had enough power, and enough tone and DSP settings to allow for any volume-dependent adjustments I needed to make. The immediate problem, What I came across was that mine in SPDIF was on a different setup and the old one I was using although it had very good sound was only 16 bit and I had enough music 24-96 and 24192 on my laptop that I wanted. able to play... So I felt like I needed a converter that would work with 24-96 and 24-192. So type Douk. I didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be a good replacement for my old converter. The AD18 now has its own USB input but I never liked the way it sounded so I use Dou. k and send the signal to the coaxial input on the rear of the AD18, which shares a connector with the subwoofer output. To do this, you need a stereo mini cinch jack adapter and connect the coaxial cable to the left channel. The right channel is for the subwoofer output but my system doesn't work that way so I don't use it. So now I'm listening to 24-bit FLAC, sounds great.... But to be honest, even though Spek Analyzer sees it, I can't hear any difference between 16-bit FLAC and 24-bit FLAC, even with headphones.

Pros
  • With micro USB input and optical/coaxial TOSLINK output (can be output simultaneously), support for 44.1-192 kHz/16-24 bit sampling rate and DSD64 (DOP), improved signal processing offers higher sound quality and HiFi listening experience.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
