I bought this to replace a mercury vapor garage area light. I researched a lot of options. I waited six months to see if the other shoe would drop. It didn't.It's an excellent light, very bright, and stylish. Easy to install - just had to back out the old mounting screws a few turns and slip the new one right on. It's instant on and off unlike the old one that had to slowly come up to speed. And it makes no noise - the old one had a very loud buzzing sound that could be annoying.The old one was 175 watts - I figure this one will pay back in elec savings in about 15-18 months. I noticed an immediate drop in my elec bill of a few $$$/month, so it must be doing it's thing. I could see getting another one for the inside of my garage, and my airplane hangar too. Highly recommended.
