I really like the handles on these hooks, they are comfortable to hold and my hands don't hurt. However, I'm a bit disappointed that they don't have the same head design as the regular Bates hooks that I already had and loved. The tip of the head has no pointed part at all, it is curved and the notch on the hook is much sharper than my others. For regular crochet it doesn't really matter to me, but for things that need to be tight like amigurumi projects it slows things down a bit so I have to choose between working faster or more comfortably slower with sore hands.
