The middle clamps do not have a flat bottom.
These are good, solid clips at a reasonable price, but the average clips don't have the flat bottoms shown in the pictures. Both sides are curved so they don't lay flat. The small clips are flat on the bottom so they lay flat as you sew, and also have lines to show the width of the stitch.
