This storage box is large and roomy. There is definitely plenty of room on either side for storage. The divider is useful for separating/organizing items. Note that the baffle needs to be in place to keep the walls from falling in - the bin will fold in where the baffle will be inserted. Also note that the cover can be completely removed. There is Velcro on both sides of the trash can. So if you just want to pick it up and then replace it, that's easy. The neutral zigzag pattern suits most themes and is gender independent. It's also not too "childish" so it can still be used when the child is older. The only suggestion I have is to fold the velcro strips inwards. Now the hard "sticky" sides of the Velcro are placed on the inner walls of the container and the soft ones on the partition. So if you choose to leave the divider on the outside, the "sticky" side of the Velcro stays soft on anything you throw in the bin. It would work better if done the other way around.
