The lid isn't very tight and doesn't seem to protect the elements. Consistent with other reviews. I installed this in my wife's van so weatherproofing wasn't an issue. The split flexpads held up well in the corners. Performance is OK - no complaints although I haven't checked the loading speed. One of my concerns was the power cord. I had to connect it to the PowerX and it was clear that the factory used the same cable and ends for both the plug and the extension. Here the finned wire cannot be relied on to have any polarity, making any replacement difficult. This can also lead to confusion in further work. In general everything works fine. I bought a Motopower 0608 for my truck https://www.amazon.com/review/create-review/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_wr_but_top/? asins=B07BRH2FKM as I wanted these products to be cut off when under voltage and have more weather resistance for exploring. Motopower also required an on/off switch, which I didn't want for my wife, so the mictunning suited her. What I would buy again would depend on the application.
