I used a regular USB SD card reader to transfer pictures from my camera card to the Surface Pro 7, but I had a small problem. It used the only USB port I had which meant no mouse dongle! So I originally bought it just to regain access to my mouse when transferring pictures. This center solved problems I didn't even suspect! Not only can I now use my mouse to transfer pictures, but they transfer 10x faster. Additionally, it's no longer a two-step process to write images to my flash drive because I can plug everything in at once and over and over again because it's all USB 3, it's SO FAST. I also like how compact it is and how it plugs right into the Surface. I think it just looks cleaner than having another cable dangling from the Pro 7. 10 out of 10 great buy!
