Was hoping it would be a lot better for the price. The two glaring issues I think are the rope itself and how it is attached. First, the rope is already worn out and I've only used it once. I don't know how, maybe because the brakes are stuck or it's just a very cheap rope. I think it's the last. The other big problem is that you attach the loop rope to one of the cross bolts that holds the pulleys to the ceiling mount. The problem is that the bolts are fully threaded, so the nylon rope wraps around the threads of the bolt and that's where all the tension comes from. I'm very nervous that the bolt's threads will just cut through the rope over time. A simple screw with threads only on the ends would be a wiser design choice here. Plus, it takes a lot of effort to get a 65-pound kayak out to feel like something is about to let go. Of course, my wife couldn't do it alone. Again, the parts should be better at a not cheap price.
