I bought this drive to use in my high performance desktop computer (home) mainly to store time lapse raw image files. The drive was packaged in an anti-static bag inside a form-fitting airbag (see image) that itself fits snugly to the box, providing the utmost protection when transporting fragile hard drives. Upon opening it, I immediately began a battery of stress tests before plugging the drive into my computer. I first ran a 24 hour continuous random seek test (see figure) which showed an average seek time of 12ms and no anomalous behavior. Temperature variations are within normal limits and are only due to changes in ambient temperatures day and night (ambient 85 F at the hottest spot). I then ran 3 pairs of write and read tests on the drive, writing and reading data sequentially. Took 115 hours (see last 3 pics, I left it on while driving out of town for the weekend) and everything worked fine. Again, temperature variations were related to ambient day and night temperatures, but generally remained well below dangerous levels. Maximum read and write speed was 265MB/s (using convention 1MB = 1000KB, not Windows where 1MB = 1024KB) using Crystal Disk Mark. As far as noise goes, it's actually relatively quiet, about the same as my WD Black drives. Overall I'm very happy with it, will update if anything changes.
