My baby loves the water, but as we often go to the river, I'm worried that the current will catch her and take her along. This vest is the first part of the two tier system I use for his safety. I also tie him to a 30 foot urethane leash which I also attach to my life jacket. If we're on the oarboard and he comes in, I'll follow him and I'm sure he won't drown in this vest. We've had a couple of vests for him but this is my favorite - it fits him perfectly, doesn't chafe anywhere and has built in securements (velcro wrap AND nylon straps. A handle would be handy too. I don't use this often but we're over this morning walked a small set of sleepers and I was able to grab the handle to secure it while we hopped around I've attached pics of this - you can see how well it fits him 12lbs and we have a small but here has the vest enough room for a dog, maybe eight or ten pounds heavier than my friend.
