We used this on a camping trip with our 18lb 1 year old daughter. It was 50 degrees at night and previous attempts at camping made us realize that she had to be warmer. That was excellent! She slept in regular cotton pajamas, and we left the bottom of the sleeping bag open for ventilation between laying down and crawling into the tent. I pulled it on around midnight and (although we forgot her warm hat) it stayed toasty all night. Our little one has plenty of room to grow in, I expect it to fit at least another year or 18 months as she is on the small side, but it fits well enough and is comfortable that she didn't seem to complain it was huge on her. No security issues. She just cuddled up.
