I've been using these for a number of years. Great heads. We change ours every few years because of the extremely hard water that clogs things up over time. The function of those rubber nozzles that you can rub your finger to turn them off works really well, but our water just pulls a little out over time. A standard head without rubber tips connects in about 4 months, so 2 years is incredibly good with it. There's just one problem with these beautiful heads: the socket that screws the 1/2" pipe to the wall is just about done. a little too big. You'll run out of a few drops here if you use standard white teflon pipe tape or just use a thread sealant like Rectorseal 5 or several coats of white tape etc. To stop the leak Well here's how :) First you need some *double thickness* tape to seal the threads.The simple thick white cloth, which you find everywhere won't work unless your wall pipe is unusually large.One of the big home supply stores has their own brand of double thickness and it's gray not white.The yellow gas pipe tape is double thickness but use it it doesn't, it doesn't handle water well.Then you have to use 5 full turns (threads) of double gauge to fill the gap between M and F pipe threads.Unfortunately 10 turns of white stuff is not equivalenti g, it compresses too much with so many turns. Trust me spent a lot of time there. Finally, you *then* need to coat the outside of the pipe tape after wrapping it with Rectorseal 5. The theory here, and I've seen it with other tube fittings, is that sealant - any of them - only works well if the threads match. If you have a large thread gap like this, you'll need to fill that extra gap with thread tape first, and then apply the compound. But no, unfortunately using only 5 turns of double gauge thread without coating the pipe thread won't work either, I've tried. Then finally screw on the shower head and it shouldn't leak from the first use!
