I needed flat HDMI cables to wall mount my new LG OLED55C7P and they seemed to do the trick. Shortly after installing them, I noticed that the TV was losing the signal from my Apple TV 4K. Just before it fell, I got colorful snow for a split second. Disconnecting the HDMI cable seemed to fix the issue for a while. I tried a new Apple TV 4K and the same thing happened, so it probably wasn't. I then tried a new cable from SyncWire that also had the required specs. The problem persisted so I reported it to LG. They sent a master to replace the main circuit board of the TV. It took less than a day for the problem to reappear and my blood was boiling :) I reluctantly went to Best Buy and paid $80 for an 8ft HDMI cable, knowing I had been horribly gutted, but THIS cable worked. I asked this on an online forum and people were adamant that Monoprice HDMI certified cables were the way to go. At $10 for a 10 foot unit I gave it a try. A week later the problem had not recurred and I was happy to return the $80 cable to Best Buy. It seems that buying a cable with the right characteristics should be normal, but that's not my experience. So get rid of those flat pieces of junk and just use Monoprice HDMI-certified cables. Have fun watching it!
