Review on πŸ’¦ KOHLER K-98740-CP Watertile Rain Overhead Shower Panel: 4 Sprayheads, Polished Chrome by Andrea Sledge

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A shower head/tile that is stunning but requires an overly complicated installation process.

Simply amazing shower head with a very complicated installation process. I chose this unit as it was perfect for a new shower I was working on to fit in an old spot in my master bathroom. Received this and was very excited to take it out and see how it would install. Then I realized that they were making this ad infinitum difficult to install. What You Get: Beautiful chrome head frame. 4 rain nozzles that fit into the frame. : A simplified way to just connect each head and then tie them to your plumbing. Instead you have to sit on it for what seems like 4 hours cutting and testing pieces of copper tubing before I can finally get everything in place, plus a few extra trips to the local hardware store to buy elbows and other stuff that was missing. I mean it could have been a lot easier if they had included a simple piece of copper pipe that was already the right size for this shower head system and everything would just screw in and be done. Instead, all you get for an extremely high price is chrome tiling, a couple of showerheads, and a bracket for storage. Everything else is up to you. While I love looking at this shower head and just find it amazing, I'm also a bit concerned that I had to create a piece that should have been included from the start. I was going to give it a lower rating but now that it's set up and installed it looks great. Not that it didn't take excruciating labor to get it there. I have done many plumbing jobs over the years but this is by far the most difficult job I have ever done. What's worse is that it was for me, at least if I was doing it for someone else, I could at least feel justified in skyrocketing the installation prices due to the apparent disappointment of this unit. It looks great in the end, but the installation process is a headache that I hope to experience again one day. I'll be looking for a much simpler block for the other two bathrooms in this house.
