Good thick leather straps, flexible, with heavy buckles. One strap had scratches on the surface which would have bothered me if I had ordered them to be worn, but as I ordered them to attach these wool pieces to my bench I'm fine with that. The size is correct. It doesn't smell like some leather goods online and the gold finish is consistent.
