I was unable to install the Orbi system. I spent 5 hours calling from Netgear and Xfinity. Xfinity was able to put my modem into bridge mode so it could connect to the Orbi. However, the Orbi master has not connected to Xfinity. I contacted Netgear and they sent me to a first level service engineer. In the middle of the conversation we got separated. I called back and got someone else who ended up taking me to a second "Level One" service technician; this call was also disconnected. I called again and contacted a third party. We were offline but at least she called me back. We got disconnected again, she called me a second time and when we disconnected a third time she called me back and I heard her but she didn't hear me. She hung up and didn't call back. Each technician spoke to me about 20 minutes per call. So by this point, they had helped me fix an issue with the backend that I thought would connect, but it didn't. So I called Netgear and got a fourth technician who told me that Netgear had a problem with the phone lines that evening, they ended up transferring me to a "level 1" person but before we could get started. WE WERE SEPARATED AGAIN. So, to be clear, I've only had 7 calls with Netgear and couldn't even complete the install due to THEIR TECHNICAL PROBLEMS. By the way, each person spoke when the call was delayed, so they were in a different country, but all the calls back they made due to the cutoff were from California. By then it was 1:30 am (I started the install at 9 pm, thinking it would be a 15 minute process as Netgear boasts) so I called Xfinity back and asked them to unbridge my modem mode so my kids could do your schoolwork the next morning. It was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE. I'm calling Netgear during the day this weekend to spend another five hours installing this thing... But unfortunately my second Orbi system, which I bought for work for $1,000, wasn't delivered to my house until this morning delivered . . and I'll return it if I can't complete this install on my tiny system. I'm copying and pasting this note because 1. Netgear's support tech is so ridiculous I don't even know if they'll get it or read it (I emailed them this directly) and 2. i will post them. as an overview of both Orbi products. Netgear customer support is ridiculous.
