I think most people who complain about leather that is too rough or thick have not completely ripped their shoes. As with all leather shoes that need to flex, it will take several months before they become comfortable. After that they are very comfortable. I wear them almost every day and have been for almost two years. My only complaint is that they lose traction more easily on wet surfaces once the tread starts to wear out. But that's to be expected from a minimalist shoe, so I can't be too picky. I will be buying another pair once they start to lose integrity. As for size, in normal shoes I wear 11.5 and in a vapor glove, size 10.5 fits me perfectly.
